Custom Workshops & Sheds in Tulsa & Northeast Oklahoma

Custom Workshops & Sheds in Tulsa & Northeast Oklahoma

From small storage sheds to full metal workshop buildings — built on concrete, engineered for Oklahoma weather, sized for how you actually work.

A workshop or shed from Summit is more than a pre-built box dropped in your yard. These are custom-built structures on engineered concrete foundations — sized for your property, built for your use, and designed to last. Whether you need a small storage shed, a dedicated hobby space, or a serious metal workshop for equipment, fabrication, or a home business, Summit builds it from the ground up.

Every project starts with a free on-site consultation — 30+ minutes at your property, no obligation. Alan evaluates your site, answers all your questions, and helps you understand exactly what’s realistic for your space, your use, and your budget. No kits, no prefab — custom built by a contractor who handles the concrete and the construction.

Answers to Common Questions

How much does a custom workshop or shed cost in Oklahoma?

Workshop and shed cost depends on size, structure type (post-frame vs. metal building), finish level (uninsulated storage vs. climate-controlled workspace), utilities included, and site conditions. The concrete foundation is always included in Summit’s pricing. A basic storage shed on a concrete pad is a very different investment from an insulated, climate-controlled metal workshop with electrical, plumbing, and spray foam. Every project is custom quoted — a free in-person consultation where Alan walks your property gives you the most accurate number.

What’s the difference between a shed and a workshop?

A shed is typically used for storage — lawn equipment, tools, seasonal items. A workshop is designed for active use — it has higher ceilings, larger doors, better lighting, electrical capacity for tools and equipment, and sometimes climate control. Summit builds both and can help you figure out which configuration fits your needs.

Can you add electricity or plumbing to a workshop?

Yes. Summit handles utility rough-in as part of the build. Electrical service, lighting, outlets, air compressor hookups, and plumbing for a sink or bathroom can all be included and permitted as part of your project.

Do I need a permit for a shed or workshop in Oklahoma?

It depends on the size and your municipality. In most cases, structures over a certain square footage require a permit. Summit pulls and manages all permits — you won’t need to deal with city or county offices yourself.

Can a workshop have living quarters added to it?

Yes. If you’re thinking about eventually adding a sleeping area, bathroom, or small living space to a workshop — what’s sometimes called a shouse — tell Alan during your consultation. We can rough-in for future plumbing and electrical so the upgrade is easier down the road.
